Roos too good for bulls in T20 clash

Thursday night at Carpet House Oval was the place to be with Anglesea taking on Barrabool in a T20. Dylan Taylor captain the side and won the toss and elected to bat. Opening the attack was Ned Cooper and Stephen Jacimovic,and they got off to a brilliant start with the run rate hovering around 10 for the majority of the innings. However it was Jacimovic that fell first as he held out to a man at long off as the score became 1-77. Darcy Cooper managed only four with the bat before he found himself out caught. This brought Dale to the crease and along with Ned put on a further 49 before Dale also was caught out. So with the score at 3-146, Ty Norman came to the crease and along with Ned, kept the score tickling along nicely and saw the teams total pass 200 when Ned eventually fell on the second last ball of the innings for a sensational 128 off 73 delivers. Ned’s innings consisted of 11 fours and  3 sixes. So at the end of the 20 overs the roos finished on 4-202 with Norman 11* (12) and Venables 1* (1)


The bowling was shared around with nine individual bowlers. Dylan opened up with Dale and it was Dale that struck in his second over, bowling Findlay for 3, with the score 1-16. That soon became 2-26 thanks to Aaron Lindsay as he got Grigg caught out for 18. The third wicket saw 43 runs added but it was the inclusion of Jacimovic that claimed the wicket of Bissett, which brought the score to 3-69. Lindsay then got his second wicket getting the bloke out caught and the score became 4-88. Then another couple quick wickets, all caught off the bowling of Lindsay, saw the bulls slump to 6-110. They managed to bat the remaining of the overs out without the loss of any more wickets but fell 65 runs short at 6-137.

The win now sets up a semi final clash with rivals Jan Juc with the details to be confirmed. Well done boys!!
