B & C Grade – Don’t forget arvo tea. Go Seas!
Well the season ended with just two wins out of 5. The A Grade fell short and in doing so they moved down to third on the ladder meaning we have to travel to Barwon Heads for the semi final.
B Grade finished the season off with a win as they chased down 250. Ash Poulton notched his 4th ton up for the season with an unbeaten 116. Darcy Cooper 87no and Pretlove 24 were the other major scorers.
C Grade fell short in their chase of 249 as they were bowled out for 190. Mark Stoneham found some late season form with 86 while Joash was the next best with 29.
D Gradw had a close loss, as the game came down to the second last ball. making 145 on a slow outfield the bowlers chipped away and tied the batters down but eventually the home side prevailed.
However despite the above results, the stpry of the weekend was from the women’s game when they lifted the premiership cup. Bowling first, Drysdale got off to a flyer, but we were able to rein them in and restrict them to 6-116.
Then in response, Janet lister and Noelle Taylor were brilliant, scoring frequently and ticking the strike over. these two managed to notch up 100 before Noelle was dismissed for 48. Racael McCue then came in and saw the game out with Janet as we passed the target 1 down.
It caps off a terrific season for the ladies who sat on top of the ladder for a fair chunk of the season.
