A & C Grade – Don’t forget arvo tea. Go Seas!

A Grade had a narrow defeat as it set out to defend 191. The home side got off to a great start with the bat as they piled on 72 runs before they finally lost a wicket thanks to a great run out. hopwever we managed to reign them in after that and tied up the scoring. it came down to the finals overs before they eventually passed our total of 191 with an over to go. Tom Beasley the stand out performer with 6-77 off a marathon 31 overs. This week they will be eager to bounce back and find some form against  rivals Jan Juc at home.

B Grade chasing 181 for a vital victory to keep finals chances alive were un able to bring home the chocolates as they were bowled out for 131. Darcy Cooper was the stand out  batter as he amassed 44no. This week they will look to get back on the winners list and beat arch rival Jan Juc away,

C Grade also in a do or die position and needing a win had a similar story to the B Grade as they set out to chase 165. The top order got starts but couldnt go on with it as they were bowled out for 126. Zach Firth and Josh Brazier both top scored with 18. This week we take on Surf Coast away as we look for redemption for earlier in the season.

D Grade had another good win against Newcomb. batting first we struggled but managed to notch up 127. Then with the ball we managed to keep things pretty tight thanks to our opening bowlers Josh Mills and Jesse Smith. Josh finished with figures 5-23 while Jesse took 3-16 and we dismissed the home side for a mere 58.

The ladies finally got a game in and took the field against Waurn Ponds at home. Bowling first proved difficult in the blustery conditions but the  girls did well restricting the opposition to 7-80. Then opening the batting Janet and Jess got off to a great start and we managed to pass them 3 down 16 overs. Jess 21,Kylie 13, Janet 12 and Viji 10 were the pick of the batters while Janet and Tija both claimed 2 wickets a piece. This week they play Jan Juc in a twighlight game after the mens on Saturday.
